Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration is delivering roads and bridges across the state without placing financial burdens on future generations.
Adeleke stated this on Wednesday during the inauguration of the 672-metre Lameco Flyover in Osogbo, a project initiated in October 2023 under the administration’s N100 billion special infrastructure programme.
The governor described the flyover as part of a broader effort to transform Osun through strategic investments in infrastructure, including roads, bridges, healthcare, education and water projects.
He said the project was executed in line with global standards, emphasising transparency, accountability and quality delivery.
“We implemented this and other mega projects in accordance with due process, transparency and without mortgaging the future of our children. The high quality of this flyover confirms the workability of our local content model,” Adeleke said.
The governor noted that the Lameco Flyover demonstrated the capacity of local engineers to deliver projects that meet international standards when resources are properly managed.
He added that his administration had completed more than 27 kilometres of inner-city roads in Osogbo and over 300 kilometres of roads across Osun State.
According to him, more than 10 major projects have also been completed and are ready for commissioning, with infrastructure development extended to major towns across the state.
Adeleke said the projects reflected his administration’s commitment to equitable development and improving the quality of life of residents.
The Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, who spoke at the event, commended the governor for constructing the flyover in a strategic area of the city.
The traditional ruler said the project would ease traffic congestion and boost economic activities in Osogbo.
