Aseyin Applauds Tinubu’s Approval of N265bn Iseyin–Ipapo–Ibaruba Road Project

 

The Aseyin of Iseyin land in Oke Ogun, Oyo State, Oba Dr Sefiu Olawale Oyebola, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the construction of the Iseyin–Ipapo–Ibaruba road and other projects valued at N265 billion.

The monarch, who is also Chairman of the Conference of Obas and Chiefs of Oke Ogun, expressed gratitude to the President on behalf of residents of the 10 local government areas that make up the region.

In a statement, Oba Oyebola described the approval as a major milestone that would transform the economic prospects of Oke Ogun and neighbouring areas.

According to him, the road project would address decades of transportation challenges that have affected trade, agriculture and investment in the region.

“This road is more than asphalt and bridges. It is a lifeline, a promise kept and a clear demonstration of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for rural and agrarian communities,” the monarch said.

The Aseyin explained that the project would connect Iseyin through Ipapo to Ibaruba, linking Oke Ogun and Oyo North with parts of Kwara and Niger states.

He noted that Oke Ogun, regarded as Nigeria’s food basket, produces major agricultural commodities including cocoa, cashew, maize, cassava and livestock, adding that improved road infrastructure would help reduce post-harvest losses, cut transportation costs and attract agro-processing investments.

Oba Oyebola also called on the Federal Ministry of Works, contractors and relevant monitoring agencies to ensure that the project is executed with quality, speed and adequate involvement of local communities.

“We ask that competent Oke Ogun indigenes be engaged at all levels and that the road be built to last for generations,” he said.

The traditional ruler further prayed for President Tinubu’s continued health, wisdom and strength to complete his administration’s development agenda.

He described the road project as one of the most significant investments in the history of Oke Ogun, expressing optimism that it would bring lasting economic benefits to the people.
