The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated operational equipment, including bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets, to the Lagos State Taskforce to enhance security operations and improve public safety across the state.
The equipment was presented during a visit to the Taskforce headquarters in Oshodi by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, accompanied by the Director of Administration, Adegbola Lewis.
As part of the visit, the LSSTF delegation inspected operational units and personnel dormitories to assess the agency’s working conditions and operational needs.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunsan said the donation was in line with the mandate of the LSSTF to provide logistics, equipment and training support for security agencies operating in Lagos State.
He explained that the anti-riot and protective equipment was aimed at strengthening operational readiness and enabling security personnel to effectively manage protests, civil disturbances and emergency situations.
According to him, the intervention is designed to equip officers with the necessary tools to combat criminal activities, maintain public order and ensure the safety of residents across Lagos State.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the agency, Chairman of the Lagos State Taskforce, CSP Adetayo Akerele, commended the LSSTF for its continued support and commitment to strengthening security operations in the state.
Akerele noted that the donation would improve the operational efficiency, morale and safety of personnel carrying out enforcement duties in various parts of Lagos.
The LSSTF also extended similar support to the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA) as part of efforts to further strengthen the state’s security architecture.
