Governor Dapo Abiodun has described the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 election as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his leadership ability and political experience.
Abiodun made the remarks shortly after officially declaring Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, winner of the APC governorship primary election conducted across Ogun State on Thursday.
The governor congratulated the senator on his emergence as the party’s flag bearer, noting that the outcome of the exercise demonstrated the unity and strength of the APC in the state.
He reaffirmed the commitment of party leaders and members to remain united and work collectively towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
Abiodun also commended party leaders, stakeholders, members, electoral officials, and security agencies for their cooperation and orderly conduct throughout the primary election process.
According to him, their dedication contributed significantly to the peaceful and successful conduct of the exercise across the state.
The governor further praised APC members in Ogun State for what he described as their maturity, discipline, and peaceful disposition during the direct primary election.
He stated that the process was orderly, transparent, and credible, adding that it reflected the democratic values and internal cohesion the APC has continued to uphold in the state.
Abiodun added that the party remained focused on consolidating ongoing achievements in governance while sustaining developmental projects and initiatives across Ogun State.
He urged party faithful and supporters to continue to maintain peace, harmony, and unity within the APC as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
