Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Kayode Oladele, has congratulated Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) on his conferment as a Fellow of the Yaba College of Technology (FYCT).
In a statement issued on Monday, Oladele described the honour by the Senate and Management of YABATECH as a well-deserved recognition of the senator’s longstanding commitment to education, youth development and legislative advocacy.
He noted that Senator Adeola has consistently championed the upgrade of YABATECH and the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (FPI) into full-fledged universities of technology—an effort that has seen FPI already transmuted into a substantive university, while YABATECH awaits presidential assent.
Oladele further highlighted the senator’s extensive investments in youth development through his annual scholarship and bursary schemes for Yewa students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria. These interventions, he said, have significantly contributed to human capital development, literacy improvement and poverty reduction across Ogun West communities.
“As an unapologetic apostle of Yayi’s social liberation movement, I sincerely thank the Senate and Management of YABATECH for this great honour bestowed on our political icon,” Oladele said, expressing confidence that the recognition will inspire the senator toward even greater achievements.
