OLORUNDARE ENIMOLA, Lagos
In line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objectives, the Dangote Cement Plc, under the auspices of the Dangote Group, has donated an operational patrol vehicle to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), to support the effort of the agency in enhancing her road safety and traffic management operations.
The official handover ceremony, which was held at the Dangote Cement Plc Administrative Office, Ikeja, Lagos, took place on Friday, August 29, 2025.
While presenting the keys to the vehicle, Alhaji Wakil Olayiwola, Head, Social Performance, Dangote Cement Plc, reaffirmed the company's readiness to continue supporting initiatives that promotes public safety and development in host communities.
Receiving the brand new operational vehicle, the Hon. Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Olugbenga Dairo, ably represented by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Aderonke Tokunbo-Peters, expressed her gratitude for the donation, on behalf of TRACE, noting that the operational vehicle will greatly enhance the Agency's capacity and capability in road monitoring, traffic compliance and enforcement, surveillance and emergency response, thereby promoting efficient service delivery in line with the State Government’s road safety objectives.
In his remarks, the Ag. TRACE Head, Cdr. Omonayajo Elias, saluted the initiative and support of Dangote Cement Plc through the donation, hoping and believing it will serve as a commendable example of private sector support for public institutions, through Corporate Social Responsibility, thereby highlighting the importance of partnership and collaboration in advancing societal development and ensuring a safer and saner road environment for all.
The same largesse was also extended to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, to strengthen and bolster it's operational fleet. And on hand to receive same was the General Manager of LASTMA, Cdr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki.
