Estate Developer Accuses Lagos Broadcast House Of Defamation, Asked For Retraction, Apologies by thelandmarkinfo

Mr. Elijah Adeogun, who is popularly known as Akogun, an Estate Developer based in Ota, Ogun State has cried out àgainst paid announcements broadcasted on a popular Radio station based in Alagbado area of Lagos against him and his client, Alamu Idowu Ojumo, alleging them as land grabbers and scammers, who sold out Ijegemo family land to several people on false pretext.

According to Mr. Elijah, the Yoruba paid announcements monitored by him, stated in part; "The general public should be wary of Elijah Adeogun and Alamu Idowu Ojumo over Ijegemo family parcel of land, which they are not entitled to, but are fraudulently involved in the sale of the parcel of land to unwary individuals. The general public should therefore take note that whosoever that buys the land from them does so at their own risk."

Elijah said the announcement was nothing short of being malicious, damaging, defaming, amounting to the disparaging of his good character and record built over 20 years in the business of land development and sales in the same community where the said parcel of land, located some few blocks away from where he lives for many years without any stain to his name.

He therefore called on the Radio station to immediately retract the announcement, apologise to him and his client, else he will be forced to sue it along with the party who paid for the announcement.

In his words, "The parcel of land was sold to me by their father Chief Oye Ojumo after he obtained judgement from an appeal court over the land.

"Afterwards, other family members challenged the sale of the land to me, and they dragged me to Ota High Court 4 in 2020 with suit number HCT/514/2020 before the case was strucked out to enable me retain the land. All the legal papers are available for any interested party to vet." Elijah added.

The same land matter is presently, at the Zonal Investigation Department, ZID, Zone 2, investigating their claims, but they have refused to honour all the invitations from the Zone, which was confirmed to Daily Independent by the IPO handling the case.
