LAWMA, LASTMA Remove Illegal Structures, Vehicles Along Badagry Expressway

The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), has continued its enforcement and environmental sanitation exercise along the Badagry Expressway, clearing illegal structures and improperly parked vehicles between the Lagos State University (LASU) Gate and Okokomaiko.

LAWMA disclosed the development in a statement shared on its official X handle on Monday, saying the operation targeted illegal occupiers and makeshift structures obstructing the highway corridor.

According to the agency, the exercise is aimed at restoring order, improving environmental sanitation, and enhancing the overall condition of the busy expressway.

As part of the operation, enforcement officials also removed vehicles that had been illegally parked on the road median, while demolition and debris evacuation continued across affected locations.

LAWMA said the joint exercise forms part of the Lagos State Government's ongoing efforts to reclaim public spaces, improve traffic flow, and create a cleaner and safer environment for motorists and other road users.

The agency reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining environmental enforcement activities across the state to promote a cleaner, more orderly Lagos.
