Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has urged Nigerians, particularly Christians, to use the Christmas season to reaffirm their faith in Jesus Christ and pray for the renewal and progress of the nation.

In a Christmas message to his constituents in Ogun West Senatorial District and Nigerians across the country, Adeola described the season as a period of reflection, thanksgiving and intercession, rather than mere merriment.

He noted that Christmas symbolises the birth of hope for humanity through Jesus Christ, stressing that the celebration should remind Christians of the promise of salvation and a brighter future for mankind.

The senator also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s economic outlook, stating that the reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are beginning to yield positive results, particularly in economic recovery and national stability.

According to Adeola, recent policy measures have helped stabilise the economy, strengthen the Naira and bring about reductions in petrol prices and the cost of basic food items.

He further stated that inflation, which peaked at about 38 per cent earlier in the year, has declined to 14.45 per cent, while food inflation has dropped to 11.08 per cent.

While acknowledging the socio-economic challenges facing Nigerians, driven by both local and global factors, the lawmaker said the country is steadily moving towards recovery and sustainable growth.

Adeola called on Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith and united in purpose, expressing confidence that with collective resilience and divine guidance, the nation would overcome its challenges and experience improved security, economic growth, peace and poverty reduction.
