The management of Sysserve Solutions on Thursday organised a Media parley to push for the mitigation
of losses in the Haulage and Logistics subsector which is estimated to run into several billions
annually with the introduction of an intelligent Journey Management System.
In his opening remarks, Mr Jerry Okogbue, the CEO of Sysserve Solutions, said in Nigeria alone, the
logistics and transport sector loses billions annually due to delivery delays, fraud, theft in
transit, and vehicle downtime, all tied to poor visibility and a lack of structured journey control
systems.
Johnson Owoeye, the COO, explained that for over 7 years working closely with transporters and
cargo owners, he noticed that despite the heavy investments in tracking systems and ERPs,
many still struggle to optimize operations and are unable to answer basic but critical questions
needed to filter systemic shortfalls.
He said, "In many cases, transport teams still rely on calls to drivers or WhatsApp messages to
obtain journey status updates or share proof of delivery documents (PODs), which causes billing
delays and makes data-driven decision-making and process improvement nearly impossible."
Kazeem Balogun, the CTO, added, "This is why we built Instanta Haulage, a journey

that after several years operating in the logistics and Haulage industry and close association with
other operators he realised that despite heavy investments in technology solutions, most haulage. companies still struggle to know the exact time a truck arrives or leaves a loading and delivery
point, neither are they able to track where delays happened, and for how long.
In his words, "it is difficult for the company to ascertain the quantity of goods loaded, delivered,
or lost and by whom or ascertain the actual turnaround time (TAT) or send customer bills on
time, due to proof of delivery (POD) delays.

medium to large haulage companies have a tracking system and an ERP system in place, but the
tools do not work together, and they do not serve the realities of haulage operations. The
tracking platforms are often underutilised, while the ERP systems are tasked with handling

operations.
"To bridge the gaps, some companies attempt to custom-develop fleet management
